FIREMANAGEMENT

FIRE LIGHTING

Dwyer Aviation offer two methods of aerial fire lighting which are selected to suit specific requirements:

Incendiary machine

  • We offer a complete service, including the incendiary machine, incendairy balls and experienced and qualified Bombardier
  • Regularly used to burn undergrowth in National Parks for bushfire fuel reduction and weed control

Heli-Torch

  • A flammable gel is ignited as it leaves a Heli-Torch slung beneath the helicopter
  • The system is completely controlled by the Pilot from the cockpit of the helicopter
  • This method is best suited to specialist burns such as Rubbervine weed control

Our fire bucket is useful for wetting down the fire breaks prior to the commencement of any aerial fire lighting work.

FIRE FIGHTING

At Dwyer Aviation we acknowledge the threats and challenges that fire poses to all areas across Australia. Our service can assist in combating bushfires that may be difficult for the ground fire crew to overcome.

  • Our “Huey” heavy lift helicopter is equipped with a 1300 litre water bucket
  • The team is experienced in fire fighting, fire surveillance and crew transport
  • We can dispatch multiple helicopters at once
  • Our fire buckets can be transported inside the helicopter thereby enabling rapid response time. Buckets can be filled from local dams, creeks and rivers or collar tanks
  • We are on call 24hrs, 7 days a week for emergencies
